Paul Harradence (Osteopath)

After graduating from the ICO in Randwick in 1986, Paul worked in East Sydney and Glebe, before starting in Newtown in 1993. Paul works in the structural style, with an interest in problems of the newborn, (feeding and sleep disturbances), and treatment of the acute, especially the lower back and/or with referred pain to the legs.

Michael von Mengersen (Osteopath)

Michael has a keen interest in the core stability of the spine and its link to pain and altered movement patterns. His research in this field (Titled: The Cranio-Cervical Flexion Test using pressure biofeedback: A reliable and useful test in the measurement of cervical dysfunction?), has been published in the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine.

Elizabeth Howard (Osteopath)

Liz graduated as an Osteopath from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1996 and began working in Newtown.  She worked in the UK for two years both in private practice and the National Health Service.  On her return to Inner West Osteopathy, Liz also lectured in the Osteopathic Course at the University of Western Sydney for eight years.  She currently guest lectures for the Osteopathic course at Southern Cross University, and most recently the Australian Sonographer's Association.  Due to the demands of parenting her two boys,  she is currently working part-time, on Mondays and Fridays. She mixes her structural approaches, with newer indirect, ‘bio-dynamic’ approaches. With a broad interest in osteopathic care, she has had success in diverse areas, from women's health, pregnancy and post-partum care for mother and child, as well as general musculo-skeletal problems.  Liz is part of ongoing education and peer support at Newtown.

Joel Champion (Osteopath)

Joel graduated as an Osteopath from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.  He has worked in privates practice for many years and also in Ireland.  He has a Graduate Diploma in Animal Chiropractic and has recently returned to study medicine.  He is popular at Newtown, with his combination of many styles of work.  He has a special interest in treating babies and children.  Combining work at Neutral Bay, with further studies, his shifts are limited, and booking ahead is necessary.

Betty McKew (Osteopath)

Betty graduated from the University of Western Sydney. Betty deals with a broad array of modalities and styles. Deceptively strong, she has been a popular practitioner here since 2005. Her interests in treatment vary from issues related to dance and performance, to children, pregnancy and treating newborns. Betty’s presence here in Newtown is limited to only 2 shifts per week. She also works at Balmain Osteopaths.

Alan Sardelich (Osteopath)

Alan graduated from the University of Western Sydney, earning the Dean's Medal.  He has built a large following since joining Hordern Street. Working mostly in a structural style he gets good results across a range of presenting problems, including sports injuries, disc bulges, neck pain and headaches.  Working also in the City and Chatswood, he works three sessions a week at Newtown.

Megan Crossman (Osteopath)

Megan is a new edition to the team at Inner West Osteopathy, coming from a busy osteopathic clinic in the western suburbs. Megan enjoys treating a wide range of musculoskeletal complaints using a structural approach to osteopathy. Megan's areas of special interest include upper back and neck pain, headaches and womens health. Megan is available for 3 shifts per week at Newtown.

 

Deidre Goodey (Massage Therapist)

Deidre has been the primary massage therapist at Hordern St for over 10 years, and has a wide and loyal following for her particular style of deep tissue massage. Deidre has received praise (SMH) for her work with stars of the stage and screen.  She has a devoted clientele ranging from members of the dance and performance fraternity, tradesmen and pregnant mums, to the hard working hairdressers of Newtown with their particularly demanding ergonomic work patterns. Booking in advance is advised, especially for the weekend appointments.

Peter Griffin (Massage Therapist)

Peter has worked at Hordern St for many years. He is strong and also does the firmer style of deep tissue massage. Peter has a loyal following, and with Deidre provides the remedial massage service available on the weekend. With many sport interests and other obligations outside Newtown, Peter only works on the weekends.

Gino Lo Pilato (Osteopath & Acupuncturist)

Gino has come to Osteopathy after a successful career as an Acupuncturist in the Eastern Suburbs. Combining it with his Osteopathy, he finds it gives breadth to his work, as these modalities complement each other well. Patients can see Gino for Acupuncture alone, or in combination with Osteopathy, and rebates apply for each HiCaps system.
